letter from ed:
Hello bio@ameshighschool.com,
I found your site when I google'd "AHS Alumni".
I was expecting to find my site, but I found your site instead.
I graduated from AHS in 1974 and I manage the Official AHS Alumni
Association web site http://www.ahsalum.org. I saw you have a link
to the AHS Alumni site, so I reciprocated and put a link from http://www.ahsalum.org
back to www.ameshighschool.com. You have a very interesting site
and I even know some of the people that have posted so far from
the class of 2000 (Hi Kirk).Question: Is anyone organizing a 5 year reunion for the class
of 2000 for this summer sometime, or maybe next Fall? Usually, the
5 year reunions are very informal and only one day, and are a lot
of fun. If anyone is doing this please email me at email@ahsalum.org
and I'll post the info on http://www.ahsalum.org/reunion.htmlAlso, don't forget to keep your email updated at
http://www.ahsalum.org click on the big Email Directory button,
the click on Add/Remove.Ed Hendrickson Jr. 1974 AHS Alumni
PS: My son, Blake Hendrickson, graduated from AHS in 2001, and
daughter, Jennifer, in 2003. Both currently reside in Iowa City.

Hi! It's nice to read about everyone and play the match-face-to-name game (I hope I'm not the only one with an apparently shitty memory). I graduated in 2004 from ISU with a degree in music education, then decided teaching was not for me. I worked in libraries for a while and decided that getting a library degree would be a good idea. Now I'm in Iowa City pursuing a master's in library science while working a half-time assistantship in the music library and living in sin with my boyfriend and being pushed ever-left by America's ails. Email me! sonnyleotoy@yahoo.com
Take care!

I was just thinking it might be time to update myself on the website
since I have been told by several people that my previous entry
was really corny... I admit it was pretty silly. Anyway, I
just wanted to say that I am proud to say I will graduate August
of '05 after completing my awesome, yet un-paid internship
at Mid-Iowa Community Action. I just started my internship
today so there isn't much to tell except that I can still remember
the alphabet to file information.. woohoo!! It is good to see
that more people have wondered onto the sight, if you read
this.. try checking out the Facebook on the internet at www.thefacebook.com,
then you can look up people and their complete bios. I hope
everyone is enjoying new adventures as I am looking forward
to the adventure of finding a job and finally entering the "working
world". I can't say that I am prepared to move out of
Ames, even though it is about that time considering that I
have never lived anywhere else. Well, that's about all for
now.

Hello,
I have enjoyed
working outside this last summer, previously I was working
for Target here in Ames. I liked the people I worked with
at Target, even if they liked to call me "Special K" because
of my position as the shoe specialist. Anyway, I am hoping
to finally finish college this year, I am currently at Iowa
State working toward my bachelor's degree in Child and Family
Services, with a minor in History. Hopefully I can get a
job as a Family Life Educator, helping people take better care
of themselves and their children. I have developed a strong
interest in the Civil War and hope to eventual travel to
the South and visit the historical monuments there. I am sure
that sounds really exciting to most of you... Congratulations
to all of you who got married since high school and to everyone
who has graduated. I look forward to doing an internship
next semester and then graduating in May 2005. I know almost
everyone has said this before but to any and all of you who
would like to talk or need anything, feel free to e-mail me:
Countrychica265@hotmail.com or IM me: Countrychica265
Keep making a difference!!

ANDY COWAN-
Hi everybody! This site is the coolest thing! I'm loving going
through and thinking up what I remember people for--and wondering
what somebody might remember me for. . .
Here's my short story: I'll be graduating in May from the University
of Iowa with a BS in Physics and Astronomy. After summer gigs with
the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (where I learned how to
bribe a hotel employee to keep your federal employer from finding
out about the damage that your fellow students caused while drunk)
and Northern Arizona University Astrobiology (where my comrades
and I spent 8 hours lost in the middle of the desert), I'm turning
around and going to law school!
In other news, I don't drum anymore but I play the hammered dulcimer,
alto recorder, and Irish tin whistle. Anybody who goes to Iowa
has probably ridden on a bus that I've driven. If not, you have
until July to take advantage of this limited-time special offer!
Act now!
I get back to Ames a few times a semester, usually over weekends.
I can be reached as chia@transuranium.homelinux.net, chiashrub
on AIM, or chia_tek on Yahoo |
Hey class of 2000. It's been a long time since I've seen or heard from most of you. I hope all is well with you all. In the last six years I have:
been to culinary school
gone to Thailand twice to teach the English language at two different universities
gone to Turkey once to study the Turkish language
became an uncle to three really sweet nephews and one beautiful niece (as of October 2006)
helped clean houses in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina
and most importantly have finally figured out that there is absolutely nothing more to live for than Jesus Christ. I am a sinner; a lying, thieving, adulterous man who deserves to have severe punishment for my wrong deeds. Without Christ, I would be a wandering buffoon of a man without any hope or direction to go in. I may have said I was a Christian while in high school, but looking back at it, I was nothing more than a hypocrite who said one thing with his mouth but lived contrary to that. For that, I sincerely apologize.
I am still at Iowa State University pursuing a B.A. in Child and Family Services. I should graduate either this December or in May depending on if I can pass my biology class (what can I say, I study children not math or science). After graduation I hope to find a job that pays well enough to pay off my student loans quickly. After most of my loans are paid off, I reckon I'll be leaving the country to go live my life as a follower of Christ in most likely a predominately Muslim country. Either way, I have seen too much of this world, and have got a serious bug to see as much of it as I can. So future reunions may be slightly difficult get to. Well that has been my life in a nutshell. If any of you are in town and want to go get a coffee/beer (note: beer=singular)/or other beverage of choice, let me know. Here are some ways to get a hold of me. Hope to see a lot of you sometime in the future.

Hey everyone,
What's up? Everythings awesome here. I am currently living in Boone, not too far from Ames!! I am happily engaged to the most wonderful man, and I have two beautiful children, Jonathan (3) and Ashlyn (2). Yeah, they're close together, but they are sooo sweet. (sometimes) Anyways, I was just sitting here when I came upon this webpage. I think it's awesome that you dedicated it to Andria. Andria and I always got along, well, we went to school together since 4th grade when I moved to Ames from Nevada. And, we thought it was awesome that we shared the same first name, although it was spelled differently. Anyways, I am doing very well. I don't see many of you, but I am in Ames about once a week or so...mostly to go shopping! But, I guess that's it for now. Have a great life everyone.

Hello all! After graduation Clint and I moved to Ankeny and I started at DMACC, which didn't last long. We got married in 2001 and found out that we were pregnant on our honeymoon. We had a beautiful baby girl named Kaitlyn. About a year after she was born Clint and I got divorced, but we are still friends. I met my current fiance Christopher about 4 years ago and we also have a daughter together named Natalie. Kaitlyn is now almost 5 years old and Natalie is almost 2. They are both beautiful and wonderful! I graduated from DMACC in May of 2006 from their Veterinary Technology program and in June of 2006 I took my state and national board exams and passed them. So currently I am residing in Ogden and working as a registered vet tech at Ames Pet Hospital. I do see some classmates occasionally because they bring their pets to my clinic.

Although the
rock star career hasn't taken off like I had promised most of
you, and the Modeling didn't pan out, I currently find myself
in Minneapolis MN, in Uptown. I am a Manager at a restaurant
in St. Paul. I've ran into a handful of kids from our class that
now reside up here...ironically enough we all live within a 2
square mile radius of each other. When not working, I spend most
of my time reading and listening to NPR(a pastime others should
look into). Family has since moved out of Ames and headed north.
I regret to say that my hard partying days are long behind me,
but invite anyone who is swinging through the cities to drop
me a line and we could go out and have a pint or two. In the
words of someone far more smart than I, "When
walking, just walk. When sitting, just sit. Above all else, don't
wobble."

Well well well...Isn't this the best way to check on your ex-classmates. Lot
of you probably don't even remember me but maybe yearbook will ring a
bell. I still remember almost the whole class even though I lost contact
with pretty much everybody ever since I moved out of state. Well, for
those who are curious, I'm currently in Hospital right now for intentional
drug overdose and I need some visitors to make me feel better. Needless
to say I'm only joking. Actually I've been in Houston for a while now.
I am attending University of Houston at the moment and plan to graduate
with a Bachelor's in Business Administration by May 2006. I'm taking
classes at a snail's pace
as I have also been working full time for over 3 years now. Hey that is about
the same time I graduated from AHS! I'm a manager in consumer operations at
Citibank so I got a good title but sucky pay. The company won't start paying
me good till I graduate but hey at least they are paying for my school. It's
like a pizza oven here in Houston as I'm constantly sweating
my butt off due to the sweltering heat. I really miss the springs and summers
of Iowa and wish to visit there someday. I guess the highlights of last four
years for me have been:
* Moved to New York for 5 months after AHS graduation and did a whole lot of chilling
and ended up getting broke.
* Moved to Houston in 2001 (which was a rather big change for me)
* Bought a new car.
* Drove to LA, Cali to participate in American Idol tryouts after spending
two days in the lines with a count of 5,000 hopefuls and although made it to
the second round, I couldn't afford to stay there for another week to compete
in the second round. During my visit, I window shopped on Rodeo Dr. and played
in the waves of Santa Monica and Malibu beaches.
* I finally visited the sin city earlier this year and it was such an awe-inspiring
experience. Not much of a gambler though but love the quality of life. One day
I shall move to Vegas!
* Oh! and I'm a proud homeowner now. Nothing big but a decent starter
home/bachelor's pad. I would love to hear from any of y'all(It's Texas thing
as well). If you're ever in Houston or nearby, drop me a line and stop by to
get a taste of Southern Hospitality, unless it's Megan Harms, in which case
she already has :). A big shot out to Leslie for hooking it up. The website
looks great.

What up peoples!
Just checkin' in....Got bored out of my mind at work so decided
to look for
any updates. Just got back from California a couple of weeks ago
and had a
blast while I was there. Tryin' to figure out a way to transfer to
Santa
Monica through my work, would love to live in the Promenade. Seems
like a
whole lot of people are getting married or having babies which is
totally
rad. Well I'm still single and willing....oh I mean that I'm willing
to live
the life to the fullest before I get settled. No one's havin' parties
anymore, what's up with dat ? Is everyone feeling really old now
? I was for
a second but figured that life is too short to be feelin' old. Pleeeeaase,
the door of my house is always open and anytime is a party time over
here in
da H_TOWN. Why do I sound like I'm back in high school or
somethin'....Anyway I gotta snap out this figment of imagination
that I'm
still in high school...Live is good and I'm grateful for the fact
that I got
food to eat, roof over my head, bed to lay in, wheels to get around,
bulge
in my pants ---------(WHAT THE !*&*^#^^$#%^$^)
So how's it hangin' for everyone else....For me it's hangin' really
heavy
and low...(((ARGHHHH WTF ?))......Well that was an interesting email
conversation, now let me get back to work and yell at few people.....
Always, -_-_-_-_-_-_-_ NOT!

P.S don't hesitate to email me at chaudry.a.farhan@citigroup.com

GREENFIELD - 1.23.05
so I'm not really sure how I stumbled upon this website, but it's
probably good that i did- high school has become something of a
blur, and it's definitely cool to see what everyone has been up
to- it's good to hear that our class has produced both a dope rapper
and a television star, not to mention all the wonderful things
the rest of you are doing.
as for my whereabouts, i graduated from iowa state in december
'03 with a B.S. in psychology, and worked for a chemistry lab in
des moines for a few months thereafter. i made my escape from iowa
last july (the same week my brother moved to denver, colorado to
learn about cars- my parents quickly replaced us with cats) and
now find myself a first-year medical student at case western reserve
university in exotic cleveland, ohio, where, as the picture shall
attest, i have learned to wear a tie.
i return to iowa infrequently- my parents still live in huxley,
though they may move to west des moines, where my dad will soon
open a new bank next to the fancy new mall. this summer, i will
likely be splitting time between iowa, cleveland, new jersey, portland
oregon and san francisco (where, interestingly, would-be 2000'er
mr. ben recker now lives, for free, in a utopian commune filled
with people that are practicing zen).
it would be great if anyone wants to catch up- it seems like ages
since i've spoken to many of you. i'll leave my e-mail, and i can
be found sporadically on aim (danngee). also, anyone finding themselves
in cleveland is welcome to make use of my futon. until then,
-dan

I live with the students in the dorms, create and update the

do all the things no one else wants to do! I spend 2 and a
half years at Iowa State but am really excited to start my
senior year at University of Maryland in August. I was just
ready for a change and to get out of Iowa! My brother gets
married on June 14th (2003) and it has been awesome getting
to know my sister-in-law and helping plan the wedding. I hope
to get my degree in Journalism and then get my master's in
Non-Profit Management!

the non-profit sector when I graduate and spend my life happy
but

So
holy shit. I just randomly tuned in to Fuse, the not-as-sucky

she gave Ames, Iowa a shoutout. Poor girl, though -- the VJs
totally ripped her a new one for coming off as a dumb valley

Oh...
and she also got fat. Skinny little waif that she used to be

a degree in journalism. I am currently living in an old house
with 7 girls, and would love to have visitors! I am just
staying busy with lots of activities, working at the Lawrence

and the funniest bbq restaurant called Famous Daves. I have to
wear a wooden pig nametag that says 'famous lindsay'. it is quite
humorous.
I would love to hear from everyone soon. 8-8-2004 Hi everyone. I love this Web site-it's so
great to know what you all are doing. so, I graduated from
KU in may and I got a job in kansas city as a marketing coordinator
for a design and architecture firm. It's great, I actually
just started so I'm still learning so much. Anyways, I got
a place on the plaza here in kansas city and I love it. So
if anyone is in town, we'll have to meet up for drinks and of course
there's always a free place to stay.
Congrats

After mocking me for using "Facebook", some fellow Ames
High grads pointed me in the direction of Leslie's site... Here's
the quick and dirty on me as of late: I graduated from Iowa
May of 2004 with a BA in English and dance and a minor in biology. I'm
currently back in Ames (sigh) and working at ISU. I'm a program
assistant at the Research Foundation and I have a cute little apartment
up in Somerset--it's a glamourous life. I'm looking towards
graduate school in the fall of 2006 and hoping to get some traveling
in before then. I'm not married and my only pet is a fish named
Liam who pretty much takes care of himself, so I have nothing to
tie me down. Look me up when you're in town--I'm always good
for at least half an hour of fun. You can email me at kristinekoehler@yahoo.com

Kelcey Larsen-Ferree
Kelcey Larsen-Ferree here (now Patrick-Ferree). I graduated from
University of Iowa with degrees in Classical Studies and Linguistics,
got married, and am now attending Duke Law. If anyone is thinking
of law school, I'm more than happy to give you the low-down; I absolutely
love it here, and I'm sure it's the best possible place for anyone.
I met my husband when I was in high school taking Latin classes,
and we've progressed from friends to old married people in the time
since. I got married the same day as Amber and Ryan, June 5, 2004--there
were five weddings in Ames that day! I also got my beautiful wedding
day jewelry at Kirk Youngberg's family's jewelry shop, Ames Silversmithing.
I highly recommend them.
I found this site through a friend from UI who is a huge fan of
Leslie's--he wanted me to get her autograph for him! It's not every
day you know someone whose autograph someone else wants!
I may be back in Iowa for the summer of 2005 (cross your fingers
that I get the job!), and I'd love to hear from people at any time.
If you're in the Triangle, North Carolina area in the next couple
of years, look me up! You can reach me at Kelcey.PatrickFerree@gmail.com
(I don't check it often, though) or by AIM at KelceyCat (I'm almost
constantly online).
Congrats to everyone who's graduated, been married, had kids, and
generally gone on to do wonderful things! (And as an update to everyone,
Tracy Tyler has gotten engaged to her longtime boyfriend Nick and
will be getting married Summer 2005.) |

Hi all, just wanted to put my little mark on this site- thanks to
my buddy, Omar, for the link. J
I’m now living in Milwaukee, WI with my fiancé, Marty
Lemay (wedding to be in October 2006- we’re going on a cruise
to get married, I’m so excited!). I’ve been up here for
about a year and a half now… I’m currently working as
a receptionist- it sucks- as I job search to find something more
challenging.
I got my B.A. in psychology at University of Iowa- but, as you can
see, a lot of good that’s doing me!!
My parents live in Madison and Marty’s GIANT family mostly
reside here in Milwaukee- so a lot of my time is spent with them.
For those of you who knew my little brother, he’s now a junior
at University of North Dakota- flying planes! He’s engaged
to a cute little thing from the Twin Cities- wedding date has yet
to be set.
Marty and I live with our 2 labs (Maverick [our baby] and Bubba)
and our jerk-of-a-cat, Fatty. Marty has an adorable 5 year old daughter,
Amber, who started Kindergarten this year. She’s my baby butterfly-
I love her to death… her mom… well, that’s another
story! So that’s it… that’s where all my time
goes… working, cleaning, being a “mommy”, and
trying to keep sane!
Here’s my contact info, for anyone who wants it… keep
in touch, ya’ll!

Hey former classmates,
I think this website is very cool, unfortunately I just discovered
it
earlier this week. I have enjoyed reading about everyone.
I spent the past four years at Rockhurst in KC. I graduated this
past
May with a degree in chemistry. I am now in medical school at the
University of Kansas, which is also in Kansas City. The last time
I was

the

of you
want to catch up do not hesitate to email me. I hope everyone is

It's
great to read through everyone's bio and catch up on what's going
on. I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa
with a degree in English with a minor in Professional and Technical Writing. After
graduation I lived in Iowa City for five months and then moved
down to Albuquerque, NM for a couple months to take a
paralegal certification course at the Univ. of New Mexico. My
next goal is to get into law school for the fall semester of 2005. Drop

things are going well for you all!

Hi!
A highschool friend showed me the Class of 2000webpage and biographies,
so I thought I'd add mine.
Well, I recently graduation from Beloit College in
Wisconsin with a BA in Anthropology. During my time there, I attended
an archeological field school in the Atacama Desert of northern
Chile. Yeah, it was pretty dry. Anyhow, I'm currently taking a
year off before going to graduate school in Museum Studies.
Yes, I still do artwork. In fact, I run an online
comic called Mixed Myth (http://mixedmyth.keenspace.com), and
I frequently post my work on my online gallery (http://namingway.deviantart.com).
The photo is of me at the site down in Chile digging
out a posthole in front of an excivated clay building.

Right now I don't know what I want
to major in, so instead of piling up more student loans, I've
decided to work
full-time until I can figure out what my major will be. I've
been working in the Organic Ag. Lab at ISU since HS graduation
(part-time
for the three years I was in college, and full-time since last
spring) and in September I took over the position of the Research
Associate/Lab
Technician. In the summer, I travel around Iowa visiting our
research sites, taking data, applying treatments (it's amazing
how much you
feel like a ghostbuster when you're wearing a CO2 tank and
a backpack sprayer!), and of course, walking the beans. In the
winter,
I spend
my time running statistics, writing research reports, going
to conferences related to organics, and preparing for our summer
research
projects.
I'd love to hear from all of you!

Wow,
am I the only single person left from the class of 00? Anyway,
beyond the self-pity, congratulations to everyone, it sounds
like many of you are doing well.
An
update since my last message, I'm still working in the organic
lab, and I'm registered for classes next semester, I thought I'd
take some classes in different things I'm interested in hoping
to find something I want to major in. I'm going to learn to play
the carillon (the bells in the campanile), so if
you're in town, stop by to hear me play! I'll let you know if/when I'll be playing.
I've already promised a friend that I'll play "Hell's Bells" by
ACDC, any other requests?
Okay,
so I said in my last message that I'd love to hear from everyone,
but didn't give a single way to contact me, oops. My e-mail address
for now is acmckern@iastate.edu Take care!

Rachel (Schoelkoph) Moberly -
After high school I went to DMACC before moving to Webster City.
I got married to Jethro Moberly on June 16th, 2001. In October
we got Winchester (a fox terrier). We also started to remodel Jethro's
family's farm house. I didn't realize how much work that was going
to be. We found out that while doing all this work I was pregnant.
The farm house was an experience. Jethro bought chickens. Roosters
are evil. I had a chicken I named "Betty" that would
follow me everywhere. I fed her vegetables and crackers a lot.
He also brought home a stray, which we named Sampson. He was part
yellow lab and boxer. Our son was born August 7th, 2002. His name
is Jackson. I worked for a while as a cake decorator at Hy-Vee.
Then I went back to doing daycare so that I could be with Jackson.
May 2004 we moved into town. We bought our first home. We are also
remodeling that. We have already put on a new roof and replaced
the grass. Jethro is currently putting in all new windows. This
fall we should be putting in a new furnace and air conditioning.
Our second son was born August 21st, 2004. His name is Samuel.
I am now enjoying staying at home with my kids and doing daycare
for friends. I am starting to draw pictures of my kids and other
friends' kids. That is my hobby right now.
